Asian Tapas Holiday Recipes

Okonomiyaki-Style Brussels Sprouts

Holidays RecipesIt just wouldn't be a holiday meal without Brussels sprouts. Thankfully, we've seen a full 180 on the classic steamed Brussels with butter or cheese over the past few years. Now, Brussels are loaded with texture, flavor, and imagination. Like these Okonomiyaki-Style Brussels Sprouts from Bon Appetite, for example. Roasted heartily then tossed in an Asian-inspired glazed and topped with kewpie mayo and bonito flakes, these tiny cabbages will easily become the crowd favorite.

Pork Wontons with Sesame Sauce

Asian Tapas Holiday RecipesBon Appetite comes up clutch again with their Pork Wontons with Sesame Seed Sauce. These are an easy-to-make hit at parties. I mean really, who doesn't love wontons? Personally, I prefer these with a hit of gochujang sauce in the filling for a funky/spicy flavor. You can also substitute mushrooms for the pork if you've got vegetarians in your group.

Bulgogi Style Eggplant

Asian Tapas Holiday RecipesYes, yes, YES! If you're looking to hit hard with bold, veggie-centric flavors than this Bulgogi Style Eggplant is the one for you. The eggplant is first salted and drained, then marinated in a rich bulgogi glaze before being seared. The nice this about this recipe is it can be served either hot or cold, and if cooked properly, you can get the sticky glaze to really hold onto the eggplant. Makes for a perfect, quirky finger-food item.

Soy Braised Chicken Wings

Asian TapasChicken wings are the ideal finger-food, therefore a perfect fit for our Asian tapas menu. These Soy Braised Chicken Wings are the ideal savory component to round out your menu. The double coating on the wings (first marinating then glazing) makes for an incredibly rich and complex sauce that will have everyone at your gathering asking what's in them. These are excellent with some house-made pickles of cucumber, daikon, and/or carrot.

Cookies!

Asian tapas CookiesI love an assortment of cookies for a holiday gathering. It's the perfect way to satisfy lots of cravings, have a mobile dessert, and prep ahead. Unlike cakes and pies cookies last longer, and the dough can be made way in advance. And because I can't settle on just one, check out these Asian cookie recipes:

Happy Holidays Everyone!

We hope you enjoy these Asian Tapas recipes and take the chance to surprise your guests with something new this year. From our family to yours, we wish you the happiest of holidays. I can't wait to see what the new year brings!Cheers!
